All the adulation, ...
the attention in the media, ...
...and they think that they are more special than the next goat. 
They begin to strut their stuff and play the role. 
They begin to do things to make sure they keep the attention going. 
Partying, 
drinking, 
...bling.
Next thing you know, there are shocking reports of skipping from doe to doe, and inappropriate behaviour, like sleeping in manure piles.
