Happy New Year 2013!

Its been an eventful 2012 for my small family. Earlier in the year, we learned that we needed to sell the farm in order to make a job move, and we have been in that process for a while now. The farm has been for sale, as have my animals, and my lovely goat herd has been getting smaller and smaller with my last four breeding gals left.

Then just four weeks ago, our first grandchild Jake was born, and we have been lucky to be able to spend a lot of his first month with him. With our future move, we will be so much closer, and will be able to see this little one grow.

Since we learned of our move, I appreciate every day spent on the farm with all my senses. We have been so lucky to have been owners of such a special property for soon to be ten years. I wish we could move it with us.

So I look forward to 2013, not for the move from the farm - that will be sad -  but that it takes us closer to our daughter and her growing family. That will give us much joy.

I wish you all a joyful New Year too!

What will you do with all your beautiful goats?

I'm afraid they will be sold as soon as I can find homes for them.

I should have done this sooner, but I'd hoped they'd stay with the farm. There has been interest in the farm WITH the goats, but I can't wait forever and I need the flexibility to be able to travel and house hunt myself.

I'd like to keep a couple as lawnmowers myself, but not everyone is as understanding as I'd like!!

Congratulations, Rose. Jacob is truly a gorgeous baby. When I read your previous post, I had a bit of a scare, then felt a pang of sadness for that poor woman and her loss. I also feel a pang the farm is up for sale but understand. You've gotta do what you've gotta do. One knows when it's time to move on. All will work out!!

I followed the advice of others and went to Settings and changed from the first setting that allowed anon to the second setting. So far, so good. (Fingers and toes crossed!) Fighting off a bit of a cold so like a snail getting caught up but will soon return to Settings and follow advice to moderate comments on posts older than four days. There are some really sick people out there, eh?

Anyway, Happy New Year! You're off to a great start and truly blessed!

Oh, did you e-mail me? Wasn't sure, what with the spammer problem.
