Border Collies On The Trail Ride

Of course you know we have our calendar boy Jock, the Border Collie. So when we went on a trail ride at a sheep farm this week, what did I take pictures of? Border Collies.
Dee Dee and Betsy ran along with us for the almost two hours of riding in warm and dusty conditions. They were both small and about ten pounds lighter than Jock. Betsy (above) had had eight pups two weeks ago, but preferred to run with us. Her poor hungry babies!A few times the dogs were so close underfoot, you could hear their panting but couldn't see them. Because Dee Dee looks so much like Jock, she had more than her share of photos. When we stopped for a break, the dogs found the shade. As the ride traveled higher, the views got grander.
Dave was a few horses behind in the single file up the hill.
His paint is the mother of Princess, the young horse I rode. Here we looked down at the farm where we started our ride.Princess liked to stay ahead of the pack and by the lead horse, so we got to learn a lot about the place from one of the sons of the owners. Princess got to pinch some of the freshly baled hay at the end. View of the trail ride area from the farm.
