Thank You Colorado!

View from Paonia
I had my first visit to Colorado this past week and what a pleasure it was. At first I was disappointed with the scenery, and as soon as I said so out loud, the views began to leap at me.But the best part of Colorado was visiting old friends. First we stayed a lovely night and day with my freshman college roommate, Eileen, and her husband Chuck. We got to be there for their wedding anniversary, and we were at that wedding just 22 short years ago. It was so nice to relax on a nice warm evening with them, and try to catch up with our lives. In Vail, I spent a few hours with my running partner from my first marathon, Jan, who had left for Vail twenty nine years ago. What is wonderful is how we can pick up where we left off, and continue the conversation. All of us have children, and homes, and a few gray hairs, but we are still the young, albeit, slower, women we met in our youth. Friends are the best part of travel.
