Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon via Desert View Entrance

After arriving in Flagstaff in shorts and sandals, our breakfast view was of the snow laden Mt. Humphrey, and the surrounding icy conditions we had arrived in the prior evening.
The sun was shining, and we made the scenic route choice of Rt. 89 to the Desert View eastern entrance of the park.
I wasn't quite ready for snow capped mountains, yet here they were.
As we lost elevation out of Flagstaff, the terrain became yellow and flat, with the canyon pinks showing up far in the distance.
Obligatory Grand Canyon entrance photo.

There are many in the park, and their lore is told by the rangers here.Grand Canyon NP site

Your photos are magnificent! Every superlative applies to the Grand Canyon. The colors are especially beautiful. It's such an awesome, majestic site. Been years since I've visited....Enjoy your trip...enjoyed seeing the flat terrain. Hub's niece lives in Flagstaff and looooves it.
