If you are staying a week or more, there are a few apartments along the canal. Next to the Inn are some lovely places available through Jack Lingo or Lewes Realty. In-town Lewes are a few B&B's, but I don't have personal knowledge.
Its a town proud of its history and VERY bike friendly. You can go all the way to Rehoboth Beach on the newish trail, and to the local beaches. Rehoboth has lots of outlets, taking advantage of tax free sales. Cute quilt shop right near the canal.
Surf fishing and fishing off boats is all available. There's a local brewery up the road. Good eats at Irish Eyes on the Canal. What do you like to do?
Thanks, Deere. The bike friendly news really appeals! Didn't realize there were so many tax-free outlets. A bit of Christmas shopping comes to mind. Hub and I like to walk along the beach, but it doesn't have to be a summer beach. Much about Lewes appeals. We're looking at schedules. Thanks to your info, I think two-three days in the area would be delightful. Have a great weekend!
The blog is really notes to my friends, old and new, to let you know what's going on in our lives. Its also a diary of sorts for myself. It started at the farm in Ligonier, PA, hence the name, but now life and work has moved us back to Connecticut,
I've always taken lots of photos and sent postcards from everywhere we travel, just to keep in touch. Email took over and then the digital camera.
Instead of me plugging up your email, you can check in when you have the time.
And yes, another town with the same problems as any other!!!
Please enjoy and let me hear from you...really~

I know a lot of people know English much better than we know any other language, but for those that want some help, me included, I'm trying this translator. Please leave a message to let us know where you are viewing from. Ciao!
