Having grown up with them as neighbors, and now living the rural life - I'd say no.

Just another group of people who dress differently and have a religious element to their lifestyle, but are human and have human problems.

But gorgeous horse teams!

I have a friend who lives near Lancaster. She's a native German speaker, married to an American, and knows several of the women well enough for a bit of chit chat when they see each other. She says the same as what you wrote above.
