Currants

Currants are a crop I don't have yet. I bought a black and red variety a few years ago with the blueberries, but one died and the other tried to start and then disappeared. Cathy, who kennels Jock, gave me some cuttings last fall and I got a few to root. They are currently(Ha!) in pots so that I don't lose them.

These berries are from Cathy's bush, and I can't wait until I have a great crop like hers. Tart, but yummy! Like Sour Patch berries.

Yum! I use currants (or currant jelly) when I make Norwegian Red Slaw. Oh, yum!
